What's included

New plantings

Trees, shrubs, and perennials chosen for Western MA hardiness and your property's light and soil. Installed with proper root prep and mulch.

Bed design & install

Fresh beds with edging, a quality plant mix, and mulch. We layer for height, color and bloom timing.

Walkways & patios

Paver, natural stone, and bluestone. Proper base prep so it doesn't settle or frost-heave in year two.

Retaining walls

Segmental block or natural stone. Built for grade and drainage. We pull permits when needed.

Lawn restoration

Full lawn rebuilds — strip, amend, regrade, re-seed or sod. Perfect for post-construction or neglected yards.

Landscape Installations FAQ

Straight answers to the questions we hear most from Western Mass homeowners.

How much does a landscape installation cost?

Projects range widely — a bed refresh with new plantings is a very different job from a paver walkway or a retaining wall. Every installation gets a written proposal after a site walk, with materials and labor spelled out.

Do you provide design or work from my plans?

Both. We do in-house design for most residential projects, and we're happy to build from a landscape architect's plans for larger jobs.

What plants grow best in Western MA?

Native perennials (echinacea, coneflower, black-eyed susan), hydrangea varieties, rhododendron, dogwood, serviceberry, and ornamental grasses all do well here. We match plants to your light, soil, and how much upkeep you want.

When is the best time to plant trees and shrubs?

Early spring (April-May) and fall (September-October). Summer plantings work but need heavy watering through the first season.

Do you offer warranties on plantings?

We stand behind our plantings. Ask about replacement terms when we quote — proper watering during the first season is the biggest factor, and we give you a simple watering plan to follow.

Can you handle drainage issues in my yard?

Yes. French drains, swales, dry wells, downspout extensions, grading corrections. We fix the cause of wet spots, not just the symptom.

Do I need permits for a retaining wall or patio?

Varies by town. Taller walls typically need engineering and a permit; patios usually don't unless they change drainage or sit near a property line. We know the local rules and pull permits when they're needed.
