We treat 2 properties in East Longmeadow this season. Seasonal visits for yards from Heritage Park to the Redstone Rail Trail, with tick work on every one.
East Longmeadow, once the East Village of Longmeadow, is rolling drumlin country: low hills running north to south, with wetlands tucked into the valleys between them. Most of those wetlands are hardwood swamps, concentrated in the Watchaug Meadows and along the Mill River. Pecousic Brook drains the north and west of town on its way to Springfield, where it forms the lakes in Forest Park.
Heritage Park on Main Street has a 4-acre pond, and the Redstone Rail Trail runs between Denslow Road and Maple Street. The town is a member of the Pioneer Valley Mosquito Control District, which handles mosquito surveillance, larval mitigation and public education for its member towns. Our program covers your yard: the shrubs, shaded borders and wood line where adult mosquitos and ticks rest, about every three weeks from late April through October.
With swamps in the valleys and trees on the slopes, East Longmeadow's tick habitat is the border between yard and woods. Tick control is included on every BML mosquito visit at no extra charge. The tech treats leaf litter, tall grass along the wood line, stone walls and woodpiles, then the shaded beds closer to the house. Yards that back onto the rail trail or one of the town's wet hollows get extra attention along that edge.

A BML tech meets you at the property, identifies hotspots, and gives you a firm price. No pressure.
Once you're on the schedule, the first treatment usually goes in within 7-10 days. Dry time is 30-45 min.
We come back every ~21 days through October. You don't have to think about it — we handle the rest.
No. They're separate towns; the area that's now East Longmeadow was once the East Village of Longmeadow. This page covers East Longmeadow, where we treat 2 properties this season from our shop in South Hadley.
Once the spray has dried, typically 30-45 minutes. The materials we use are EPA-registered for residential yards, and we do not treat flowering plants during active bloom, to limit contact with bees and other pollinators.
Every yard is different, so we don't publish a flat rate. It comes down to the size of your yard and how much edge habitat there is. We'll walk the property, measure what actually needs treating, and send you a firm written price before any work starts. The quote is free, and you decide.
